It’s been a jam-packed fortnight. I’ve been hard at work marketing, networking and educating others. For those who have been following me on Twitter, you’ve probably noticed I’ve been more active than usual (or at least I hope you have). So, what exactly have I been up-to?
Personal Stuff
On a personal note, I'm currently halfway through my 3-month goal of trying out a keto diet. For those who don't know, a keto diet involves consuming a small amount of carbs, a moderate amount of protein and a high amount of fat. This forces your body to use fat as its primary source of fuel, and, after years of working from home, I definitely have plenty of fuel to burn!
Although it’s somewhat controversial, I’ve personally been feeling much more energetic and have shed a few kilos. Plus, as someone who loves meat, the diet has been a good fit for my usual eating habits. It'll be interesting to see how it goes.
Business Thoughts
When it comes to my business, my focus this month has been on marketing. A small business owner wears many hats and marketing is one of the more important ones. This time around, I turned to Chat-GPT for help. In just a few hours last week, I had it write ten decent articles that will eventually make their way to the firm's website (after some fact checking and expanding on general points).
The article-writing itself didn’t take too long. Most of my time was spent crafting the perfect prompt to get Chat-GPT to write what I wanted it to. Sharpening the tool if you will.
Here is a 🧵 that changed my perspective on prompts and helped me to develop my unique prompt:
Web2 Nonsense
Web2 wise I’ve again been in the Tribunal and busy preparing a lengthy application for Court. However, the real highlight was connecting with my mentee for 2023. I'm a huge advocate for mentoring, especially in the legal industry and have been part of the NSW Law Society Mentoring Program for the last few years.
I can confidently say that without the strong mentors I've had throughout my career, I would not be where I am today and I would only have dreamed of starting my own law firm as a 31 year old. Now, I hope to guide another junior lawyer towards a successful career.
Web3 Bit
Over the past fortnight, I’ve focused on building networks and education material in Web3. I’ve jumped into a number of spaces, bought a couple of NFTs and written a few pieces. It started with me stumbling onto the Azuki licence agreement during some "for fun" research. I liked how they presented their licensing terms with simple explanations:
Then I hopped on the Nakimigos bandwagon and ended up drafting a free licence agreement for the community to think about. Because not all licencing agreements are the same!
In the midst of all that, I also wrote an article on tips for founders and devs:
AND I shared my quick thoughts on how founders should be approaching these uncertain regulatory times. Plan on building on this 🧵 after a few conversations with others building in this space.
It’s pretty clear where I like to spend most of my time.
That's all for now, folks. Until next time!
